Exploring New Horizons in Crash Box Engineering: Additive Manufacturing and cutting-edge Aheadd® CP1 Aluminum
We cordially invite you to our upcoming webinar focusing on the design, material and testing of crash management systems for the automotive industry.
Crash boxes are critical vehicle safety system components designed to absorb impact energy during collisions, thereby protecting occupants and minimizing damage to the vehicle's structure.
In this webinar, we will explore the possibilities of using metal additive manufacturing (Laser Powder Bed Fusion – LPBF) for crash management system design. LPBF enables the creation of complex geometries using a variety of materials, including innovative metallic alloys such as the specially developed aluminum-iron-zirconium alloy Aheadd® CP1, which possesses unique properties such as high thermal conductivity, good strength, and excellent corrosion resistance.
We will present the entire process from material card generation to manufacturable products, with contributions from Constellium as the material supplier, EDAG for part design and testing, and Fraunhofer IWU for 3D printing expertise.
Join us to gain valuable insights into optimizing component designs for improved performance and scalability in the automotive industry, with a special focus on crash boxes and innovative additive manufacturing technologies.
