Process simulation in metal forming

At Fraunhofer IWU, forming simulations are carried out with a detailed consideration of a wide range of physical phenomena. These include, among others, thermal effects, high‑speed effects, and material failure mechanisms.

The primary objectives of our forming simulations are both to assess the manufacturability of components and to support the design, optimization, and validation of forming tools and processes.
