Grinding and honing processes

It is not only machining processes that need to be designed to be energy- and resource-efficient. The requirements for the tribological and acoustic properties of the components to be manufactured are also becoming increasingly important. Our research is therefore dedicated, for example, to the development of intelligent process monitoring and control systems for grinding, the development of form honing using adaptronic tools, surface design through finishing and smooth rolling, the reduction of cooling lubricants, and the use of minimum quantity lubrication.

Trends

  • Energy-efficient precision machining
  • Controlled grinding processes
  • Adaptronic form honing
  • Tribologically optimized gear machining
