High-load actuators

The automation of production processes and systems increasingly requires compact actuators with actuating forces in the kN range. With their high energy density, thermal SMAs represent a compact alternative here, as they generate large forces solely through phase transformation in the material.

SMA high-load actuators achieve actuating forces in the kN range with actuating strokes of up to 1 mm and can be easily controlled via temperature control in low-voltage operation. These advantages predestine them for fine positioning, clamping or blocking applications in the automotive, aerospace and mechanical engineering industries.
