We cordially invite you to the 4th International Conference "Accuracy in Forming Technology ICAFT 2012", which will take place on 13th and 14th November 2012 in Chemnitz and is connected to the 19th Saxon Conference for Forming Technology SFU 2012, focussing on the topic "Forming and Joining – Technologies for Multi-Material Design".

The application of lightweight strategies can positively influence both the resource balance of the products in operation and in their production. The term "lightweight construction" became a synonym for a revolutionary development. The aim is to minimize the dead weight of the construction without affecting the function, safety or life time of the product. In this context, especially multi-material concepts are becoming increasingly important. This leads to new challenges for metal forming and, in particular, for joining technology.
